Our season starts on May 15th and extends to October 15th, possibly
longer depending on the fish. The strongest run of stripers occurs during the
spring and fall. With the resurgence of striped bass, the catch is steady all
summer long. Bluefish, bonito, and false albacore are mixed in, but the Captain
specializes in catching stripers.
The areas that we fish - Gay Head,
Squibnocket Point, Nomans Island, and the Elizabeth Islands - are legendary striper
haunts. The boat striper record is a monster 55 pounder! In the spring,
Falmouth pick-ups are available and we will fish areas such as West Chop, Middle
Ground, Wasque Shoals, and other eastern Vineyard water. Our methods for catching stripers are tried and true. Wire-line trolling
the fast moving currents, rock piles and reefs is the prime choice. When the fish
are on the surface, we use light spinning rods and surface plugs for fast action.
Bucktail jigging and trolling long surgical tubes are the Captain's favorite methods.
Upon return to port, the Captain will be happy to fillet and bag your catch.
And remember, Flashy Lady Charters guarantees that you will catch fish!
